I have no idea why or how I came up with this crazy idea,
I just know I was seeing so much abuse and hearing how rescues where over run and drowning through no funding and PTS of healthy dogs getting more common, I wanted to do something to raise money and came up with auctions.
I wanted to actually do something productive to help, after the first few successful auctions I realised I need help and that's when the bullying and coercion started in the nicest possible way of course... for me seeing people come together from all walks of life from all over the world! Yes world! to help save rescues and their furkids, who have done nothing wrong but be born, it is amazing and gives me back some faith in humanity... nothing better than seeing an animal saved and loved in a new home or on the mend after much needed vet treatment.
It's great working with my fellow admins who work so hard to make these auctions work day in day out I am so proud of them all and not forgetting the members without whom we wouldn't have an auction and less animals would be saved
I got involved about 18 months ago when a friend put me onto the group.
I donated items and if I couldn't donate one month I'd try and buy something.
When I'd hear the totals raised each month I'd feel so happy that this money was going directly to animals in need.
When I got asked to be an admin at first I was a bit worried. These women running this group do an amazing job month in month out and I didn't want to mess anything up. I was reassured that I would be guided through everything and I was.
I love being a part of this group. When you hear of charities getting money donated it’s hardly ever an animal charity that's on the receiving end.
Animal charities struggle so much and the animals out there needing help is never ending. That’s why I help in this group because the need for funds is never ending and when you love animals all you want to do is keep helping and we have fun along the way which is always a bonus.
I started as a 'bidder/donator on the Animal Rescue Auction Group.
After a while Linzi asked me if I'd like to join the admin team; which I am honored to be part of. I hate the fact that we live in a society which casts aside unwanted pets.
There are so many dogs in rescue centers which would be put to sleep without the help of all the lovely people who donate items to be sold on the auction group.
I have met some lovely doggy people by helping on here.
I joined the auction as a bidder right from the start.
I used to urge people on to keep bidding and this made me feel great that I was helping to save some of the sad and neglected dogs, cats, horses etc.
This auction was keeping rescues going.
Then one day Linzi asked me to join them as an admin. Scary stuff as I am not very computer savvy. However with their guidance I was actually able to do quite a lot and also gained more confidence.
It is hard work but boy the rewards far outweigh every second of time we put in! I think of all the admin as family and love them all and the bidders also. Doing this every month gives me a feeling of worth and I will carry on the job as long as I am needed x
I joined TARAG a couple of months ago as a donator/bidder when they did an auction for a local animal rescue.
The members of the group were all so friendly that it made me want to continue being a part of it.
I have just been asked to become part of the team and jumped at the chance.
Dogs have helped my daughter in overcoming her health issues and I just want to repay them
I started donating to various rescues and realised that it was an enjoyable way to make money to help animals in need.
I then spent more time on this site and Linzi ( foolishly) asked if I would like to help,
I am proud to be part of this fantastic team and couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of ladies to work with.
As soon as I had the time I jumped at the chance to help with the running of this fantastic group and it's hard work.
But the hard work problem is easily solved as the girls do it all.
And they are now well on thier way to reaching £100,000!
